| SHE IS HERE! | | Riley Katherine Parks entered this world at 12:07 AM on October 31st 2006. She held out for Halloween with all her might. Mom and baby are doing excellent and we have returned home just 36 hours after the delivery. It is a wonderful feeling to be at home with our beautiful new edition. I know we are biased, but she is absolutley adorable in every way! We will be adding pictures fairly often and have already added a few of the first ones to the site. Click the Riley link on the left to see them. More to come soon! | |
| The Time is Set | | Well we have a date. We are scheduled to go in for induction on Sunday 10/29. Our little one should make her debut on 10/30 unless she decides to come early. We'll be sure to post plent of pictures of her on this site early next week. We re both very excited and looking forward to the big day. We'll be in touch soon!

| Home Stretch | | Well the pregnancy is coming to the final stretch. There is about 10 weeks left until our little one is here. We have been spending a lot of time remodeling the house to make room for the nursery which has included moving the office to the old living room and converting the old office into the babies’ new home. We have got most everything done and are just waiting for furniture at this point. In addition, as with any pregnancy, we have been spending plenty of time at the doctor. Everything is going well so far and the baby and mom are perfectly healthy. We'll try to update the page more often now and much more after our new edition arrives. Until next time. | |
| Big news! | | Once again it has been a long time since the last update. Sorry for the delay but there has been a lot going on since January. The biggest news is that the Parks family is expecting a new member. On March 1st we learned that we are having a baby. We have been to our first two doctor visits and we are proud to report that mom and baby are in good health. The have set a due date of November 6th. I have attached a couple of the ultrasound pictures to this message for everyone to take a look. They are kinda tough to make out but none the less impressive. At the appointment we actually go to hear the baby's heartbeat which was an amazing experience. The news of the baby has pretty much consumed us for the last month or so. We'll be updating more frequently now that we have some great news to convey. Hope this note finds everyone well. Until next time..... | |
| 2006 is Here... | | Happy New Year everyone. We hope 2006 finds you well. We rang in the New Year with a gathering of friends at our house. I have added a few pictures of the event to our photo album. Our jobs are both going well and we finally feel like we have settled into a routine. We are hoping 2006 will bring news of a new addition to our family so keep your fingers crossed. Other than that, life is going great and we have a lot to be thankful for. Until next time.... | |
| Happy Halloween | | Greetings everyone. Fall is upon us and we have been fairly tied up with little projects around the house. Shannon was recently promoted to a more technical role at her company. Jeremy has just completed his first year as the IT Guy at his company. All in all, things are going well. We had a great time in Europe and have all of the pictures posted here. If you have time drop by and take a look. Until next time, Cheers! | |
| The "Home" Stretch | | Greetings again. Thanks for stopping by the site. We have just a little more than four weeks left until we depart for our trip. All the preperation is finished so now all we have to do is wait. Work is keeping us both very busy, so by the time the trip rolls around we will be ready to take off. Not much else to report. Keep checking back as we will be posting pictures of the trip while we are on our adventure.
Until next time.... | |
| A Little Over Two Months to Go... | | T-minus 9 weeks and counting until our Europe trip. It can't get here soon enough! We've got all of our plane tickets & rail passes purchased, and B&Bs booked. Now all we have to do is wait. We are planning to update our trip on the website as we go along.
In other plans, we are contemplating more home improvements, as we think toward the future and maybe one day having to turn our current office into a nursery...???
Other than that, we're just kicking back and enjoying the summer weekends with friends, bbq-ing and tossin' back a drink or two here and there.
Take care until later! | |
| Shannon's Birthday / Outside work | | Shannon's birthday is this Thursday 5/19. We are having a little get together on Sunday 5/22. This past weekend we refinished and re-stained our entire deck. What a project! It really looks a lot better now. After finishing the deck, we finally invested in some new patio furniture so we can enjoy the new deck even more. The plans for Europe are still coming together. One of our relatives has given us some information about the Parks family homestead in Ireland. Time provided, we might actually be able to visit the area where our family originated. That's all for now. Talk to you soon.... | |
| Our Site Has A New Look, Again... | | Hello and welcome back. As you may have noticed, our site has a completely new look. We have upgraded our server to a new version allowing us to run a more user friendly site with the aid of a tool called Sharepoint. The site is still under construction as we learn to use the different acpects of Sharepoint. In other news, we have bought our tickets for our second voyage to Europe. We are still putting together the plans, but it looks like we will be visiting Ireland, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Keep checking back for more updates on our trip. | |
| Europe: Round 2 | | Hello and Happy March! It's been a while since the last update. It's hard to believe we've been in our new house almost a year. We have made lots of changes to it already and are starting to talk about new projects again...maybe tiling the entire floor in the entry room, or redoing the master bathroom shower...who knows! Something else we've been talking about is what our next trip will be. We really want to go back to Europe for our 1 year anniversary. It seems only right, since we were in Europe when we got engaged. We'd love to visit Ireland, or maybe Scandinavia. We've heard the fjords of Norway are beautiful. Jeremy is working weekday nights right now, and taking two classes at the same time. It's been very stressful, but the upcoming spring break from school will at least temporarily alleviate the classes and homework. Shannon is still really liking the job she started last July. In April she gets to attend some technical training in Ft. Lauderdale with a couple of her co-workers. Not a bad place to go for training, huh? Well that's about all the updates for now. Until next time...Happy Easter!! | |
| New DSL Connection | | Hello all. Thanks for stopping by. As you my have noticed, we have made some minor changes to the look of the site. We decided to change the color scheme from blue to red. After 2+ years of updating the site, it was time for a fresh coat of paint. We have finally gotten around to posting our wedding pictures. Click Here or click the Photo Album link on the left to see the pictures. In addition to all of the wedding stuff, we decided to get a new puppy. Her name is Guinness and she is a little bundle of joy. Click the "Guinness" link on the left to view some pictures. Lastly since Shannon changed her name the "SS" part of the ssjponline.com domain name really wasn't applicable anymore. Our site is now www.MeetTheParks.com. The old domin will redirect traffic for the next few months until we get everything switched over. Other than that, life has been good. We are up and running on our new DSL connection and couldn't be happier. You should notice that the site will be much more reliable. Thanks for stopping by. We'll see ya next time. | |
| The Wedding is Over | | Greetings everyone. We have done it, we are now married. The wedding was wonderful and the honeymoon was great except for the hurricane. We are excited to be back home and having our lives return back to normal. We will be adding some wedding pictures in addition to some photos of the honeymoon as soon as we get them developed. Keep checking back for more information. As a side note, you may have noticed that our site has been fairly unreliable over the past few months. When we moved we went with a wireless broadband provider. While the service is good for the average web surfer, it is not stable enough to support a server environment. We are please to report that we are moving to our old hosting provider Speakeasy for our DSL service. Once the switch takes place in the middle of October, you should see a better reliability to the site. | |
| Continued Wedding Planning | | Three months to go until the wedding, yahoo! It has been a whole year since we got engaged, and we are looking forward to the main event. Click on the wedding link to the left for more wedding details. We have been living in our new house for almost 2 months now, and we love it. It is so nice to have a garage, and a yard, and a guest room, and a hot tub... There is not much else to update everyone on, so with that, we bid you a fond farewell for now!

| Fixing Up The New House | | Can you believe it's almost May? The weather here has been typical wacky Colorado spring lately. It snowed 6 inches last Friday, and yet it's supposed to reach 76 degrees tomorrow. Oh well! We don't care, we're homeowners now, woohoo! That's right, we closed on our house this past Friday. Everything went smoothly, for the most part. We get to start painting and decorating tomorrow, when we take possession of the house. We can't wait for everyone to see our new place. In other news, we finally finished Our Wedding Web Page. Hopefully the information on the page will be helpful to everyone. Between the new house and finishing up the plans for the wedding, the summer should be busy and fun. Until next time...

| We're Getting a New House | | Hello and happy spring to all of you! We have some big news to report...we are in the middle of buying a house! Everyone has been telling us not to wait until after the wedding to buy, because interest rates will be much higher then. So we jumped on it. We found a house in Parker that we love. The owners accepted our offer, so now we are just waiting for Countrywide, our lender, to process all the paperwork for our closing on April 23rd. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly! We are also moving forward with the wedding plans. We now have a photographer and florist lined up, and Shannon has her dress. We have started to put together the wedding web page, and we promise we'll have it up within a couple weeks! Look for lots more information in the weeks to come... Au revoir for now!!

| Wedding & Honeymoon Planning | | As usual we are lagging behind on getting the site updated. Not much is new in our world. We are still moving Ahead with our preparations for the wedding. We are working on selecting a photographer and the next step will be finding someone to make the cake. We are really excited to try as much cake as possible. We are sure we'll need to visit 20 or so bakers before we make our decision. Our honeymoon plans are coming together as well. We have decided to take a cruise around the Western Caribbean. The ship stops in Key West, Belize, Cozumel, and Progresso Mexico. Keep checking back at this page for updates. We plan to have a wedding page put together soon. Until next time. Bon soir!

We are very excited to have the date and the place set. Until the next update...we wish everyone a great Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas!!

| School/Work Updates | | Hello all! Sorry for the long delay in website updates. We have both been extremely busy in the last couple of months. Shannon has taken a full-time job with a local mortgage firm and is in the process of being promoted to a loan processor. Jeremy has changed his major to Aviation Management and is taking two classes this semester. Jeremy has also made a switch from working the weekend shift to working weekdays. This is great as it allows us the weekends to to spend time together. Other than that, we are narrowing down potential sites and dates for the wedding. It will most likely be in late September '04 here in Denver. Stay tuned for more info. That's all for now...

| Shannon Has a New Job | | Hello again. Well we have some great news to report. Shannon has found a full time position working as an executive assistant to the president of Altus Financial. The company is a local mortgage firm that is growing rapidly. One of the best perks of the job is the fact that the company is located just a couple of blocks from our apartment, literally within walking distance. Shannon is really excited to start the new job on August 1st. In other news, we finally finished editing our pictures from Europe. We narrowed the 800 pictures down to 150. If you have a second feel free to take a look at them now. Other than that things are going great. Until next time.

| Back From Our Trip | | Well we're back. Everything went really well. We had a fantastic time and are happy to be back home. Traveling is a wonderful experience but sometimes it is nice to be in the comfort of home. We have tons of pictures so it will take some to get everything uploaded to the site. Keep checking back to see if we have them uploaded yet. If you hadn't heard yet, we got engaged on our trip. There is not much news other than that. We are just getting adjusted back to the daily grind. Until next time, see ya! | |
| We're Off To Europe | | Greetings all. I wanted to do one last quick update before we leave. If all goes well we should be landing in Paris in about 15 hours. If you have time drop us an e-mail. We will be checking our mail semi-regularly and it is always nice to hear from home. We will try to get an update done while we are gone and possibly post some photos. The photos may be a stretch as imaging editing over a slow connection is kind of tedious. Rest assured, we will post all of the photos upon our return. We'll we are ready to hop in the car now so we better sign off. Au revoir, until our return. A bientot!

| Congratulations: Shannon Graduates! | | A big congratulations goes out to Shannon on her recent graduation from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. It has been many years but she has achieved her goal of graduating before the age of thirty. On that note, Shannon is now the big 30. Yep she is over the hill now. Her birthday was on May 19th. Shannon is now done with school and Jeremy is out for the summer. It is now three weeks until our departure to Europe. We are so excite for the trip. Other than all of that, things are going great. We will update one more time before we leave and then send a few updates while we are gone. Until then, See ya next time! | |
| Website Turns One Year Old | | Hello again. We are excited to announce that the website has had it's first "birthday". We have had the site up and going for a full year now. We hope that everyone has enjoyed it. It has been a fun learning experience trying to keep it up to date and interesting. In other news, we are out of school in two weeks and couldn't be looking forward to the break any more. Shannon won 25,000 miles on American Airlines from an online contest. Luckily enough, we are flying American to Europe so we should have more than enough for a free domestic ticket for later use. Speaking of Europe, we are all set to go. All of the reservations/arrangements have been made and we are ready to head out. If you want to learn more about our trip click on the Europe '03 link in the left menu. We will be keeping this page up to date while we are traveling so check back to see what we are up to. Lastly, we now have the honor of being an official web host to Jeremy's Parents site at ( http://www.jimparks.net) and the Alliance Kiwanis' new homepage at ( http://www.alliancekiwanis.org). Check them out if you have a chance. Addios' | |
